About the Teacher
Eleftheria (Eri) Diou is a certified specialist in teaching Greek as a foreign language. She is a native Greek speaker from Greece and teaches in standard Modern Greek. Credentials: Degree in Philology, official certification from the Centre for the Greek Language (Thessaloniki), CELTA-certified (UK), DELTA-certified (UK). Several years of experience teaching at international schools and universities in Cyprus, including The Island Private School (Limassol), University of Nicosia, PASCAL International Education, The G C School of Careers, and KES College.

The A1.2 course is for learners with 3-4 months of prior Greek study who want to consolidate their foundation, fill grammar gaps, expand vocabulary, and gain conversational fluency. Over 4 months you will move from forming basic sentences to handling everyday conversations with confidence. Taught in standard Modern Greek by Eri, a certified philologist and native speaker. The A1.1 course is designed for learners with no prior Greek knowledge. Over 4 months you will learn the Greek alphabet, basic reading and writing, foundational grammar, and the vocabulary needed for everyday situations such as introducing yourself, ordering food, shopping, and asking for directions. A focused A2 exam practice course for learners who are already close to A2 and want to pass the official Ellinomatheia A2 exam - the Greek language exam for the Cyprus citizenship. The course works through official past papers and covers all four skills (reading, writing, listening, speaking) with personalised feedback, preparing candidates for the next official exam dates in January and May 2027. - What is the Ellinomatheia exam?
- Ellinomatheia is the official Greek language proficiency certification. We specialise in A2 and B1 exam preparation, which are commonly required for residency and legal purposes in Cyprus.
- Do I need to pass a Greek exam for Cyprus citizenship?
- Yes. Under current regulations, applicants for Cypriot naturalisation must demonstrate Greek language proficiency, usually at A2 or B1 level, and pass an exam on Cyprus culture.
